Here are the first and second projects from kindergarten.
Lines & Color: First they learned all about lines and experimented with color by using black crayons and tempera blocks.
Cities on the Water: Then students moved on to shape. First they look at Francesco Gaurdi's Canal at the Rialto Bridge painting and we talked about Venice, Italy and how the city was built on the water. We compared it to Baltimore and our inner harbor and spent some time analyzing the different parts of the painting. Then students made their own "cities on the water" by using cut paper. Day One they cut out the bridge and glued the rectangles for the houses. Day two they added all of the details and other parts to their artwork. I just LOVE these!
