Kindergarten Winter Wonderlands!
1st Grade Up Close Snowman Portraits
White tempera paint and oil pastels on construction paper.
2ng Grade Winter Reflection Paintings
I LOVE how these turned out. Some kids struggled with the reflection concept a little, but overall they were lots of fun to make. They started by drawing a line in the center of their paper and adding trees and cottages with oil pastel. Then they flipped their paper and drew the same images again, in reverse. They "smeared" the bottom half with white oil pastel to make it look like water. They used watercolors to paint the sky and water overtop of the oil pastel. Finally, white tempera for the snow.
Here is another project done by my special needs 2nd grader. He did the same thing, but a little larger and with liquid watercolors.
